Boulanger Trio

»To be interpreted in this way is probably a dream for every composer«, writes Wolfgang Rihm in a letter about the Boulanger Trio. In the spring of 2022, the composer and with him the music world will celebrate his 70th birthday. The three musicians will join the birthday celebrations, which began with the Heidelberger Streichquartettfest 2022 around Rihm, with a program of »fantastic strange scenes«: The rarely performed »Phantasiestücke« by Robert Schumann are interwoven and downright »crazy« with Wolfgang Rihm's self-proclaimed »Versuche für Klaviertrio«. These pieces feature gestures and almost-quotations reminiscent of Schumann.
