Gabriela Montero & Belcea Quartet

Mon 11. 4. 2022
19:30

Gabriela Montero is one of the most politically committed pianists of our time: the Venezuelan has never made a secret of her criticism of the government in her home country - and has been living in exile in Barcelona for a long time. In 2018 she was awarded the Heidelberger Frühling Musikpreis, which is donated by the founding partner of the HeidelbergCement Festival: for her great achievements as a music educator, as a master of improvisation, as a musician for whom making music is meaningless without a functioning ethical compass. And as an artist who uses her public to draw attention to socio-political grievances.

She's coming back this year. Not alone, but with the Belcea Quartet and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Dmitri Shostakovich on the program.
