CHANGE OF LINE-UP: Kammermusik Plus | Oberon Trio

Tue 15. 2. 2022
19:30

Due to sickness the Trio Isimsiz cannot perform and is being replaced by Oberon Trio.

The piano trios op. 63 and op. 80 are sister works, so to speak, composed in the same year 1847, one in D minor, the second in F major. The composer says the latter makes a "friendlier and more direct impression". A contemporary critic wrote about the premiere of op. 80: “We are not dealing with such a powerful product as the author offers in his first trio (D minor), but with one that is all the more lovely, graceful, and many precious ones Treasures in a hidden piece, which must touch the receptive mind in the most beneficial way". (after C.-C. Schuster)

Toshio Hosokawa's piano trio explores shamanistic rituals, the duality between the earthly and spiritual, and between the feminine and masculine.

The artist talk at 7 p.m. is canceled. Instead the ensemble will shortly introduce the works during the concert.

Concert with intermission and catering.
