LGT Young Soloists

The LGT Young Soloists put the audience under vibrant high tension - and not just in the final piece by the Sicilian Giovanni Sollima. No wonder, since this string ensemble is made up of highly talented young musicians between the ages of 14 and 23, who show what they can do here, sometimes collectively, sometimes as soloists. It begins with Beethoven's most famous and impressive violin sonata, which appears here in pure string garb. Alfred Schnittke's Suite in the Old Style is a sequence of stylized baroque dances modeled on Stravinsky's »Pulcinella«. A great romantic reverie is Bruch's Romance for Viola and Strings. And Sollima's »Violoncelles, vibrez« is, according to the LGT Young Soloists, »one of the coolest pieces ever written for cellos«.

Concert with intermission.

In cooperation with the University of Heidelberg

The concert will be recorded by SWR2 and broadcasted on June 21st as SWR2-Mittagskonzert.
