Quatuor Béla | 100 Jahre Xenakis

Fri 22. 4. 2022
19:30

Afterwards: TREFF | PUNKT for members of the Freundeskreis at the Festival Zentrum in the court yard of Neue Universität

Iannis Xenakis was one of the most productive and innovative universal artists of the 20th century. As a composer, architect and mathematician, his works continue to fascinate us today as bridge-builders between the apparent antipodes of the world of numbers and formulas and a freedom-loving art. Quatuor Béla dedicates a program to the avant-garde composer on the occasion of his 100th birthday, embodying his artistic principle between systematics and intuition, order and chaos. Among them is the premiere of Loïc Guénin's commissioned work, which refers to sketches and graphic drawings from Xenakis' time in Le Corbusier's studio in the 1950s.
