Baerts. Mayrhofer. Het Collectief
Vienna – Laboratory of Modernity

Gregor A. Mayrhofer fotografiert von Urban Ruth

A truly exclusive form of musical gathering was practiced around 1920 by Arnold Schönberg's "Verein für musikalische Privataufführungen," dedicated to the exemplary rehearsal of central works of the Second Viennese School. Clapping and other audience reactions were forbidden – it was all about the art. Het Collectief from Belgium is an ensemble of exquisite soloists that revives the transparent chamber music versions of the association. As unreservedly expressive as the group performs them, the key works of the forefathers of modernism reveal their profoundly romantic inner life.

The concert is part of the focus point "Melting Pots".
