Benjamin Appl. Martynas Levickis
Vienna – Paris – Berlin – New York

Martynas Levickis fotografiert von Sebastian Madej

The two artistic personalities Benjamin Appl and Martynas Levickis embark on a journey through the melting pots of Vienna (Gustav and Alma Mahler, Erich Korngold), Paris (Reynaldo Hahn, Franck Angelis, Maurice Ravel) and Berlin (Friedrich Hollaender, Kurt Weill) to New York (Philip Glass, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Leonard Bernstein and others). Through their compilation of songs and works for accordion, they show in a serious yet humorous way how these composers were influenced in the world's cultural capitals and inspired to create works that are still groundbreaking today. When it becomes audible what they have transported from the Old World to the New World, then we too are "set on love from head to toe".

The concert is part of the program focus "Melting Pots".
