The nine young singers and three pianists of the Liedakademie present the results of their work. Led by Thomas Hampson, Susan Manoff, Elitsa Desseva and Daniel Arkadij Gerzenberg, they have developed two varied programs focusing on the vicissitudes of love. Jörg Widmann's cycle "Das heiße Herz" (The Hot Heart) and its compilation of texts form the poetic starting point for sometimes hopeful, then again disillusioning experiences with the longing for fulfilled togetherness. The most important requirement: the selected songs should reflect the origin and cultural socialization of the performers. The moderated performances are given a particularly personal face by the inclusion of folk and children's songs, poems, letters and other texts.
