Grigorian. Goerne. Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen
The sung symphony

Dmitri Shostakovich's focused, timeless 14th Symphony for soprano, bass and chamber orchestra, which comes as a sequence of eleven orchestral songs, is an extraordinary work. And as if made for Asmik Grigorian, internationally admired as a thrillingly intense soprano since her 2018 Salzburg Salome, and the beguilingly expressive lied singer Matthias Goerne. The two are accompanied by the always passionate Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen under its young first guest conductor Tarmo Peltokoski, who also contributes Shostakovich's confessional as well as famous Chamber Symphony.

The concert is part of the program focus "Visionaries".
