Che ... Tango!
So warm and spot-on is the expressiveness of this record that no one should spend the winter without it, the British magazine "Gramophone" raved in 2015 about the duo recording by Swiss cellist Nadège Rochat and her guitar colleague from Malaga, Rafael Aguirre. However, the spirited music of the two might suit balmy summer nights even better. When they met more than ten years ago, it quickly became clear that they were united not only by their mastery of their instrument and a similar musical sensibility, but also by their love of the elegiac and glowing classics of the Spanish and Argentine repertoire. None of the pieces in the program is heard in the original. But the duo's elegant arrangements and subtle phrasing immediately make you forget all Andalusian clichés.
