Igor Levit can really rave about Johannes Brahms and his piano and chamber music. "Music full of feeling" is what it is, conveying "comfort and tenderness, an incredible amount of love and melancholy," says the pianist, who is at home on major stages around the world and also raises his voice on social media. At the school concert, Levit will play from the late piano pieces of Brahms, who was about 60 years old when they were written. From his personal point of view, he describes the amazing relationship between intense expression and deliberately reduced ingredients. Why do these short sentences seem so poignant? Why do they imprint themselves so strongly on the ear?
