Female composers still do not receive nearly as much recognition as their male colleagues. Trio Vivente counteracts this grievance, which runs through the entire history of music, with an all-female program. In addition to piano trios by Clara Schumann and Fanny Hensel, who worked in the shadows of her husband and brother, the program includes a work by the brilliant but rarely performed Rebecca Clarke. This concert gives hope for a change in the male-dominated canon.
