Workshop with Oliver Wille and Arete Quartet
Typically Brahms?

Oliver Wille

Half day ticket 14:30-17:00

His music is unmistakable. But what exactly makes it so recognizable, so unique, so "typically Brahms"? Does this mean his complex harmonies, his often introspective and melancholic melodies, his use of classical forms such as sonata and variation? Is it his flair for balancing emotion and intellect? Or the enormous musical space of experience it opens – between folkloristic motifs and progressive ideas? A search for traces on the basis of his Opus 67.
